Fine Art Crow Print - Philosopher Crow by June Hunter

Another rainy day in Vancouver. What are you going to do? Mavis opts for a philosophical outlook in the face of the downpour.

It often seems to me that the smallest tilt of a crow’s head can summarize many life lessons.
On this particular drizzly, grey morning I was visited by Mavis —one of the crow couple, , who have been visiting our backyard for years.
Her enigmatic gaze seems to contain a question — "who ordered this weather?"

On another level, her message seems to be — "well, here we both are, living in this moment that will never come again … so how about a peanut?"

I’m always happy to take tips from a Philosopher Crow, and hope that this photograph captures a little of what Mavis, on behalf of nature as a whole, has to teach us about living in the moment, empathy, humour and —always —practicality.
